Living Book

The main aim of the Living Book Project is to support the development of reading habits at an early age.

A Living Book event consists of staging and reading a book or several stories by a selected children’s author, followed by a conversation with the audience about the book. In other words, Living Book is a kind of theatrical reading hour. While the listeners/audience follow the book being read, they also witness its enactment on stage by the performers.

Whenever we read a book, we imagine it and bring it to life in our minds. At BeReZe, we take the books we select, imagine them in our own way, and bring them onto the stage. In this way, our listeners/audience get to know both the author and the books. Moreover, before or after the performance, there is the opportunity to have conversations about the book and its author. Those who have already read the book can share their thoughts about how they imagined it compared to ours, discuss the stories and characters, while those who have not yet read it may be inspired to do so.

Living Book, an event designed for child audiences of all ages with books suited to their age group, can also be presented with stories and authors of preschool books for those who have not yet reached reading age. In this way, we aim to increase children’s interest in books from an early age, through an enjoyable and engaging experience.
